Finance Analyst

A new and exciting role in a busy team

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Finance Analyst to progress and develop within the business.  This will include some time working within other departments in finance, supporting the development and understanding of the role and the business, and setting up a solid foundation for the role.

About the role

You’ll ensure delivery of accurate financial data to improve the reporting and understanding to all business departments. You’ll prepare, analyse, and review weekly and monthly financial reports, as well as delivering a business partnering service. You will provide insight analysis and challenge operational performance throughout the business.

Key duties

  • Create and present management reports to senior stakeholders within the business (including variance analysis with commentary)
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to identify risks, anomalies, and opportunities
  • Complete ad hoc analysis for the senior stakeholders, Business Development and Sales
  • Maintaining daily cashflow
  • KPI reporting
  • Month end support including Journals and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support in management accounts preparation
  • Contribute to budget preparation and monthly forecasting for both revenue and operating costs
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, inside and outside the business where necessary

Is this role for you?

  • You are level 3 AAT qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA or a graduate with a relevant degree in Finance, Mathematics or Economics
  • You have experience working within finance or a similar role
  • You have excellent Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight
  • You can clearly articulate through excellent written and verbal communication

To succeed

You have excellent communication skills, and are comfortable interacting at a senior level. You have good attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work, along with an independent approach to problem-solving when necessary. Finally, you will work well within a team environment but can work autonomously if required. Experience of working in a similar role within the freight industry would be advantageous.
